The rugged natural beauty of Agawa Canyon combined with an overnight stay in the world's largest wildlife sanctuary, the Chapleau Game Preserve, on a 2 day all inclusive luxury tour. In the fall you can enjoy the spectacular fall colors.
Your adventure begins as you board your luxury private car for an 8:00 a.m. departure with the Agawa Canyon tour train. Sit down to breakfast prepared by your private chef/steward and then relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the hardwood forests of southern Algoma roll past the window of the comfortable lounge. You arrive in beautiful Agawa Canyon at 11:30 a.m. where you will have approximately 2 hours to explore the hiking trails and waterfalls of this oasis in the wilderness.
At about 1:30 p.m. the Algoma Central Railway's passenger train will pick up your private car and you will continue north into the boreal forest of northern Algoma. Late in the afternoon you will reach Lake Wabatongushi, the second largest lake in the Chapleau Wildlife Preserve. There you will be met by Al Errington and taken on a 15 minute boat ride to Errington's Wilderness Island Resort where you will Rough It In Velvet.
After settling into your comfortable accommodations, enjoy a delicious dinner in the Errington's licensed dining room. After dinner you can relax around the resort, go for a walk on some of our nature trails, or have a guide take you out on Lake Wabatongushi for Walleye or Northern Pike fishing or Wildlife Viewing.
There has been no hunting or trapping inside this 3,000 sq mile (7,000 sq km) wildlife sanctuary since 1925 and you have a good chance of seeing wildlife in their native habitat such as moose, black bear, bald eagles and Loons. When you return to the resort just relax until it's time for a much deserved rest with the haunting cry of the Loons for a lullaby.
Next morning enjoy a sumptuous breakfast, then do a little more exploring of the area either with a guide or on your own. Around 11:00 a.m. we will bring you to meet the passenger train and board your private car for the scenic return journey to Sault Ste. Marie. Another delicious lunch and dinner, served to you in your private car's dining room, will top off this truly unique rail adventure.

This 2 day excursion can be reserved for departures on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Wednesdays from June 18 to September 24, 2007. This package is for 8-12 people and includes all meals and beverages as well as full use of resort facilities and services.
